  1. i chose video number 2.I think that you kippur is a day that you have to say that you are sorry to all the people that you have hurt.
the big diffrence that i saw in la is that people dont ride their bike they still use their cars.but,a lot of them are fasting.

  2. Video number 2 fits to my perceive on yom kipur because yom kipur is about saying sorry, to frogive and being forgiven and move forward into the future.through the video we can learn about so many sorts of people and understanding that sometimes to say sorry is not enough and that is way people fast in order to show how deep is their feeling about the meaning of yom kipur and they really are sorry.

  3. A)I think that video number 2 fits the most, because I was taught and from what I know on "Yom Kippur" you usually ask for forgiveness from each other, no matter what you did to him, if you hurt him or not.
And this video presents the view of the way that people usual look at "Yom Kippur".
B)The differences between "Yom Kippur" in LA and in Israel, In Israel and in LA i felt the same because, in my house in Israel we all fast without electricity, and I went over to Daniel Band's house and all the family fasted without electricity and I felt like I'm in Israel fasting with my family.
I had a wonderful time there and it passed very fast for me especially because I was with friends =]

  4. I think that the third video expressing me perception to yom kipur at the best way.
I grew up with this prayer at temple on yom kipur.
I think that yom kipur is a day that you need to get closer to god and yourself. You need to feel guilty about your sins and you need to regret on it.

The differences of observances between yom kipur in Israel and in Los angeles is that you could see how everyone's life are continuing . Everyone is driving,working,eating... The television is regular...
That was different way to celebrate the holiday but it was amazing experience!

  5. agree with the third one becuse we own everything to god and he should hear our prayers and forgiveness, I also agree with the second video cause Yom Kippur remains us to apologize and how important is the word 'sorry' , but I most agree with the first video- for me, Yom Kippur is a day that make me sit and think about my sins. It wont help if we forgot our sins or pray for them and forgot them or if well give up because of them, no. we nee to remember them, learn from them and to make conclusions from them, for the future. the question is not if we sin, the question is what are we doing about it.

the differences between Yom Kippur in Issrael and Yom Kippur in America are that in Israel theres a holly feeling because everyone is jewish, so nobody drives the car and theres no T.V shows and all of the people are in the streets but in America most of the people are not jewish so this holly feeling doesn't exist in all of the places. also in my american family the family fast with electricity and we didn't eat soup for the ending meal, but I really enjoy fasting with them, it was different and special.

  6. The second video fits my perception of Yom Kippur the best because it is a time to ask for forgiveness and to think about the past year and decide that this year is going to be better. It is a time to tell the people you've hurt that you are sorry and also a time to forgive.
Different people have different ways to say that they are sorry, for some people it is difficult and for some it is nothing special and so on. I think the video is nice and describe this well.

People here "celebrate" Yom Kippur very differently. it is another Holiday for some and it is treated as different Rosh Hashana (I know that it is not true for everybody, but it is from what i saw). k.
People don't ride the bike here on Yom Kippur. Some do fast. They go to services even if they are not religious - because the majority is not jewish.
Yom Kippur here was something different.

  7. 1. the second video is the way i perceive yom kippur.
even though the third video (i think) perceive the view of israel on yom kippur- which is the pain in asking for forgiveness from god,as children dont always understand the full meaning of their actions, saying sorry is their yopm kippur.
2.if in israel you have in the synagogue that feeling of a crowded audience , like there is no air, shouting for forgiveness threw the prayer- everyone is together in the streets, in america- LA its different.
the feeling in the synagogue is "lighter", the rabbi tell you its ok you made a mistake- that everyone does- that you need to say the sorry and move on. after you leave th synagogue you are alone for the next day untill it ends.

  8. i think that the second video show the best meaning of Yom kippur. the main idea of Yom Kipupur is to ask for forgiveness for our sins and to apologize the people that we hurt. to say that you are sorry may look easy but it's not. nobody likes to say that he was wrong, it's very hard to admit that you had a mistake and to apologize for that, there is a little bit of a shame when you are apologizing that no one wants to feel, because you are saying sorry about something embarrassing that you did.

it was the first time that i wasn't in Israel at Yom Kippur. i really like Yom Kippur in Israel. usually i go out with my friends and riding on a bike or just walking with theme. you can really feel that it's an unusual day , everything is closed, no cars on the rode, a lot of people in the streets, and here in LA it was so different. it was like an usual day you couldn't feel it at all and i really missed it but it was a great experience

  9. The second video is the way perceive Yom Kipur. As i see, most of Yom Kipur's meaning is the apologize. In this day are also being forgiven and are apologized. It's not easy to say sorry and to admit you were wrong. Maybe it's easy but maybe it's real.
In the first time in my life, I was in Yom Kipur at my house in LA with my friends the entire day without doing something special. almost everybody fastened, and the whole experience was almost similar. Maybe because I'm in an Israeli family it was almost the same.

  10. I think that the second video is the one that fits me best. The reason for that is because Yum Kipur's purpose is to say you're sorry and make amends for your bad actions.

On this Yum Kipur I had so much fun! A lot of people here fast and I personally didn't drive the car and use electricity. It was a fun and intriguing experience and I'm glad I got the chance to have it :)

  11. I think the first video is the best meaning of you kippur, I think Yom Kippur is ment to be a day in which we throw all our sins, learn from them and are going to a new way.

Yom Kippur here is really great, it's the first one that I havnt seen any bycicle rider, and one of the few that I have fastened in, the synagogue program (we went to the reform synagogue shomrei torah, which also is the current campus of NCJHS) was really really short and fast compared to Israels one.

  12. A: By my opinion i think the second video shows the way most of us percieve Yom Kippur we were tought through out our lives that it is about asking for forgiveness from friends, family and yourself it is also about forgiving and putting the past behind you.
B:Yom Kippur at L.A was an interesting expirience I slept over at Emily's house and I didnt have the feeling that I have at Israel during Yom Kippur that I'm forced to be quite and not watch t.v. Going to the synagogue was very fun everyone there were friends and sang together it was different but in a good way .
